Gregg D.

Gregg received his B.S. in Education- Social Science area major from University of Maine, Farmington. He received his M.S. in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Maine, his Certificate of Advanced Study- Educational Leadership from the University of Maine, Orono and finally his Doctor of Education, Educational Leadership from the University of Maine, Orono. Gregg’s experience covers teaching grades 4-12, Principal for 10 years and then work in residential homes for young boys and girls for over 20 years. Working with at risk youth has been a passion his entire life. Gregg recently completed his Executive Skills Coaching Certification through our signature collaboration with Peg Dawson.

Brian E-J

Test Prep Specialist

Brian received his B.A. in mathematics from the University of Cambridge, U.K., his B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Warwick, U.K., his post-graduate certificate in Education from the University of Southampton, U.K. and finally his M.A. in Writing from the University of New Hampshire. Brian is a writing tutor, teacher, lecturer, and Poet. He has been teaching for 11 years in the U.K. and USA. For New England Tutors, Brian specializes in SAT/ACT prep, creative writing, college essay writing, and math through Algebra 2.

Elizabeth D.

Elizabeth received her B.S. in Elementary Education K-8 and Special Education K-8 from the University of Maine. She holds certifications in Maine professional K-8, HQT status, professional K-8 teacher of Disabled Students, and Wilson Reading and Language level 1. Elizabeth has been teaching and tutoring for over 30 years and brings a wealth of knowledge of elementary teaching and special learning situations. Elizabeth recently completed her certification for Executive Skills Coaching through our signature ESC series with Peg Dawson.

Deborah M

Special Education, Home School Specialist ★

Deborah settled in New Hampshire from Vermont where she resided for almost 17 years raising her family and homeschooling 3 of them. She received her B.S. in Physical Education from Plymouth State College. Over the past 30 years she has been a school teacher- grades K-12, Physical Education teacher, coach and instructor at the high school and college level (Lacrosse, Cross-country, Soccer, Softball, Field Hockey, Basketball), and a Math and Reading tutor.

In her spare time, she has enjoyed teaching Sunday school, being a youth group leader, workshop creator, and presenter. Deb is happiest when she is working with vibrant and motivated young students.

Don R

Math Specialist, SAT/ACT ★

Don received his B.A. in Communications from the University of Massachusetts, and his B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern in Boston. He comes to New England Tutors after a 35 year career as an engineer in the defense and aerospace industry. Don taught many technical courses to young engineers during his career. His focus is math and science (Physics and Chemistry) with a special talent for SAT/ACT prep. As a New Hampshire resident, he enjoys skiing, kayaking, and hiking.

“Michael just received his scores for the May SAT test: 790 math, 700 verbal (including a 7/8 on the essay). We were particularly thrilled with the growth in math score from Michael’s PSATs (680) to SATs (790), and appreciative that Don was flexible in his approach. Sue A.

Sue received her B.A in Psychology from Clemson University with a minor in Business Administration. She went on to receive her M.Ed. with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. Sue has been tutoring, teaching and coaching students with special needs since 1985. Her passion is working in small groups or individually with specialized and customized instruction for each individual. She has worked with grades K-12 both with academic support and executive skills building.

David A.

New England Tutors - David ADavid received his B.S. in Psychology with a minor in English from Springfield college. He went onto receive his M.Ed. in Education from the University of Phoenix. David has been a counselor and Wilderness Program Director, mental health care worker, and English and Humanities teacher for 16 years; recently teaching English at Bishop Brady High School. David holds his teaching licenses in both NH and MA and was nominated for NH Teacher of the Year 2017.

Tammy B.

Tammy received her B.A. in Dance as well as Psychology from the University of New York, College at New Paltz, NY. She went on to receive her M.Ed. in School Administration and Supervision from the University of New Hampshire, Durham campus. Tammy has been tutoring and teaching since 1991 which has included positions of Special Education Para Professional, Special Education Case Manager and Academic Coordinator and Case Manager DD. She is well versed in the special education process and the demands of these unique students. She is a passionate educator and is invested in the positive outcomes of all her students.

Akilah C.

Akilah received her B.S. in Wildlife Management/Ecology and Music Education from the University of New Hampshire. She has been teaching and tutoring since 2006 working with a diverse group of students’ grades 5th -12th. Her experience includes working with individuals with social/emotional disabilities and those with ASD. Akilah’s specialty with New England Tutors is science and math through Algebra 2-middle and high school content, SAT prep. She is a certified Executive Skills Coach through our signature program designed and in collaboration with Peg Dawson. Akilah is an avid outdoors person enjoying hiking, climbing and cycling throughout NH. Akilah will reach out to you this week to introduce herself and confirm the first session.

Patricia D.

Patricia received here B.A in Elementary Education with a minor in Music Education from Bloomsberg University. She went on to receive her M.Ed. in Special Education from Bloomsberg as well.  She later received her M.S. Ed. In Creative Arts in the Curriculum from Lesley University.  Patti has been tutoring and teaching since 1998 primarily K-5 but has also substitute taught K-12.  She has experience working with Wilson, Orton-Gillingham, Keys to Literacy and DIBELS. Patti is a passionate teacher and advocate for all her young learners.

Susan B.

Susan received her B.A. in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. She has been tutoring and teaching since 2015 all levels of math K-College. Her expertise being algebra -Calculus. She has experience with homeschooling students K-10 in all areas of math as well as French. Susan has experience working with a diverse group of learning challenges including ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysphasia, Anxiety and Depression. She embraces the individual learner and each unique style.

Deanna N.

Deanna received her B.S. in Animal Science Bioscience and Technology from the University of New Hampshire.  She went on to receive her M.Ed. in Secondary Education, Biology from Rivier College.  Deanne has been tutoring and teaching for over 15 years and has held positions at Pelham High School, Alvirne High School, Haverhill High School and Timberlane Regional High School. For NET, Deanna specialized in all levels of Science K-12, math through geometry and HiSET test prep.

Anjali R.

Anjali received her B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from Granite State College.  She went on to receive her M.Ed., Secondary Education and Adult Learning and Development from Plymouth State College. She additionally has her Graduate Certificate in Neurodevelopmental Approach to Teaching and Learning from Plymouth State College.  Anjali has been tutoring and teaching since 2018 with an emphasis on students with alternative learning challenges and Executive Skills Coaching.  For NET Anjali specializes in General Subject support all levels, ELA-English Reading and Writing, Executive Skills Coaching and Adult Learning. In her free time Anjali enjoys Yoga, Pickleball, golf and biking. 

Poppy J.

Poppy received her B.A. in English from Ohio Wesleyan University and went on to receive her J.D. from Michael Moritz College of Law.  Poppy has been tutoring and teaching since 2001 all grade levels in public and private schools. She has worked with a diverse group of students mainstream and special needs. Poppy specializes in English Composition, K-12 general subject support, and test prep including SAT/ACT, SSAT, PRAXIS, ASVAB.  

Christian C.

New England Tutors - Christian C.Christian received his B.A. in Mathematics/ Statistics from The University of Vermont-Burlington. He went on to receive his Alt 4 Mathematics certification to teach at the high school level. Christian had a non-traditional path to teaching. Starting out as an entrepreneur seeing a need and Co-founding The Alternative Roadmap (an independent tutoring program enhancing the classroom experience). He has been tutoring and teaching since 2015 and currently teaches high school math at a public high school in Maine.

Sandra M. received her B.S. in Recreation from Montclair State University. She went on to receive her M.Ed. in Special Education from Salem State College. She has additional certifications in Behavioral Interventions in Autism from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and Reading Specialist from Granite State College. She is Orton-Gillingham Certified. Sandy has been teaching and tutoring in the Nashua, Milton, Barnstead and Kingston school districts for the past 10 years. Sandra has been a reading/writing specialist with NET since 2015.

Justin Y.

Justin Y. received his A.S. in Accounting from Hesser University, B.A. in Philosophy from the University of New Hampshire and then his M.Ed. from Southern New Hampshire University. Justin has been teaching, tutoring and coaching students of all abilities since 2014. His passion for working with the underserved has led him to work as relief staff for the Dover Children Home. Justin specializes in grades 5-12 math and English/LA.

Kerry G

Kerry received her B.S. in Art History from Molloy College then went on to receive her M.A. in teaching from SUNY Old Westbury. She has her teaching certificates for Biology, Life Sciences, Middle School Sciences, and High School General Sciences. She has been teaching and tutoring since 2012. For NET, Kerry specializes in all science middle school and high school and general subject support.

Ed L

Ed received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from City College of the University of New York. He was awarded his PRAXIS credentials for PPST-Writing, PPST-Reading, PPST-Mathematics and Middle School Mathematics. He has been tutoring and teaching students of all ages since 2003. His specialty with NET is all math through Calculus, Physics, Biology, SSAT/SAT/ACT prep and Executive Skills Coach.

Samuel R.

Samuel received his B.A. in English from Oklahoma State University.  He is currently finishing his Master’s degree in English at the University of New Hampshire with the goal of becoming a teacher.  Sam has been student teaching and tutoring since 2018. Sam believes “everybody deserves a proper education and an eager and excited educator who believes in what they study”. As a new resident to New Hampshire, Sam is still exploring and enjoying all that the Seacoast has to offer.

Jamie B.

Jamie received her B.A. in English from the University of Oregon.  She went on to receive her M.F.A. in Creative Non-Fiction from Pennsylvania State University.  Jamie has a diverse working/teaching background which spans Coast to Coast including Penn State, Rutgers, UNH, University of Buffalo NY, US Forest Service Oregon and Utah, Public High School and most recently SUNY Buffalo.  Jamie has been tutoring English/LA, SSAT/SAT prep and coaching with NET since 2015.  She mentored and trained under Peg Dawson, Smart but Scattered, to become New England Tutors Executive Skills Coach Trainer.

Kate S.

Kate received her B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish from Hamilton College. She has been tutoring and teaching since 2011 working with high school and adult students in reading, writing, college essay, SAT prep, and general Language Arts. For NET, Kate specializes in English/Language Arts, SAT prep, and is currently finishing her training as an Executive Skills Coach. In her free time, Kate enjoys studying astrology and playing Dungeons & Dragons. She loves the outdoors – hiking/camping and worked at an overnight YMCA camp for 13 years. She still enjoys the casual pickup game of basketball and softball.

Lindsay H.

Lindsay received her Bachelor of Arts from Green Mountain College in Biological Systems Research during May 2011, and engaged in post-graduate research and education with the Rhode Island Center for Vector-Borne Disease at University of RI from 2013-2015. Although her background is in ecology and ornithology, Lindsay’s diverse experiences include high school teaching, executive skills coaching, special education, and experiential learning. She has three years of experience as a special education aide currently holds dual NH teaching certifications in Chemistry (grades 9-12) and Life Sciences (grades 7-12). Lindsay is an enthusiastic, creative coach who embraces an individualized approach to academics and has a drive to inspire lifelong learning. She uses her own neurodiversity as a lens to find approachable, fun, and positive ways to make life in a neurotypical world work for all neurodivergent students. Lindsay is fulfilled by watching students find strategies that work for them to overcome all of their challenges, no matter how insurmountable they may have appeared at first.

Jesse J.

Jesse received her B.A. in Biological Systems Research from Green Mountain College.  She continued her education at the University of Rhode Island studying Environmental Studies and Ecology. Lindsay has experience as a Marine Immersion Supervisor, Graduate Researcher and Teaching Assistant, and has been tutoring and teaching high school and college level students since 2016.  For NET Lindsay specializes in all sciences, general subject support K-12, adult tutoring, test prep. 

Catherine L.

Catherine received her B.A. from Colby College in Cultural Anthropology with a minor is Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.  She has been a Researcher, Teachers Assistant, Library intern and teacher’s aide.  Tutoring and teaching since 2012, Cat enjoys working with K-12, College age students and adults alike. Cat ran a children’s travelling library which gives her a unique knowledge of popular children’s books. With NET, CAT specializes in English-LA, Writing, SAT prep-R/W, general subject support and math through algebra. Cat is certified as an Executive Skills Coach.

John L.

John received his B.A. in Social History of Technology from the University of Pennsylvania.  He went on to receive his M.S. in Renewable Natural Resource Studies with an emphasis on Wilderness and Protected Areas impact.  John has been a researcher, town planner, high school teacher, Writer/editor and currently owns his own wood crafting business.  John has been a tutor and teacher since 2007 and enjoys working with curious students of all ages. For NET, John specializes in English/LA, Earth Sciences, History/Civics, math through Algebra 1 and general subject support.

Susan M.

Susan received her AAS in Business Management-Accounting from Monroe Community College.  She went on to receive her BS in Applied Computing from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Susan was in the accounting and computer world in her earlier years but moved to teaching in 2004.  Susan was awarded her PRAXIS credentials for PPST-Writing, PPST-Reading, PPST-Mathematics.  She has been teaching and tutoring for over 14 years, adding homeschooling her own children through 12th grade. Susan’s specialties are general subject support K-12, Math through Algebra 2, and SAT prep. Susan has been certified an Executive Skills Coach through our signature program designed by Peg Dawson.

Sarah S.

Sarah received her B.A. in English with a minor in Secondary Education form Saint Anselm College.  She went on to receive her M.A. in English from Salem State University and is currently working on her Certificate of advanced graduate studies at Southern New Hampshire University.  She has been tutoring and teaching since 2011 middle and high school students.  Her experience also includes Director of her Schools Annual Musical, Class Advisor, DECA Advisor, Journalism Club Advisor and SAT prep tutor.  Working one on one with struggling students is Sarah’s passion.
