Awaken the Scholar (AWS)

A fundamental cognitive training plus basic skills learning such as reading, writing, spelling, math. Awaken the Scholar Within program addresses the underlying root cause of learning problems and at the same time teaches your student the basic skills of learning: phonics, spelling, reading fluency, comprehension, writing, study skills, and math skills. We help you create an environment for the brain to build the skills it needs for effectively learning new skills.

Executive Skills Coaching (ESC)

Executive Skills Coaching teaches your student a system for keeping track of assignments and due dates while developing the crucial executive skills needed to succeed in school and beyond. Your student is guided and supported to build a daily study plan, manage their time, set short- and long-term goals, study for tests, and record their successes. They also get tools for evaluating their own executive skills in order to target their weaknesses and capitalize on strengths

Study Skills

A lack of strong study skills can make or break a student as they transition from elementary to middle and middle to high school. The executive functions necessary to build strong study skills are often underdeveloped in our budding students. New England Tutors can help build these skills within the framework of their subject tutoring. We can also create a personalized study skills program that brings in all of their subjects.
