Dawn K. received her BA in Mathematics from Merrimack College. She went on to receive her MS in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She started out as a software Engineer and soon discovered she enjoyed training and teaching. She went back to school to receive her secondary education certification in teaching and has been in the classroom since 1994. She has taught at both the college and high school level, currently teaching at Pentucket Regional High School. For New England Tutors, Dawn specializes in Math 7-12, SAT/ACT prep
Gregg received his B.S. in Education- Social Science area major from University of Maine, Farmington. He received his M.S. in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Maine, his Certificate of Advanced Study- Educational Leadership from the University of Maine, Orono and finally his Doctor of Education, Educational Leadership from the University of Maine, Orono. Gregg’s experience covers teaching grades 4-12, Principal for 10 years and then work in residential homes for young boys and girls for over 20 years. Working with at risk youth has been a passion his entire life. Gregg recently completed his Executive Skills Coaching Certification through our signature collaboration with Peg Dawson.
Test Prep Specialist
Brian received his B.A. in mathematics from the University of Cambridge, U.K., his B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Warwick, U.K., his post-graduate certificate in Education from the University of Southampton, U.K. and finally his M.A. in Writing from the University of New Hampshire. Brian is a writing tutor, teacher, lecturer, and Poet. He has been teaching for 11 years in the U.K. and USA. For New England Tutors, Brian specializes in SAT/ACT prep, creative writing, college essay writing, and math through Algebra 2.
Elizabeth received her B.S. in Elementary Education K-8 and Special Education K-8 from the University of Maine. She holds certifications in Maine professional K-8, HQT status, professional K-8 teacher of Disabled Students, and Wilson Reading and Language level 1. Elizabeth has been teaching and tutoring for over 30 years and brings a wealth of knowledge of elementary teaching and special learning situations. Elizabeth recently completed her certification for Executive Skills Coaching through our signature ESC series with Peg Dawson.
Special Education, Home School Specialist ★
Deborah settled in New Hampshire from Vermont where she resided for almost 17 years raising her family and homeschooling 3 of them. She received her B.S. in Physical Education from Plymouth State College. Over the past 30 years she has been a school teacher- grades K-12, Physical Education teacher, coach and instructor at the high school and college level (Lacrosse, Cross-country, Soccer, Softball, Field Hockey, Basketball), and a Math and Reading tutor.
In her spare time, she has enjoyed teaching Sunday school, being a youth group leader, workshop creator, and presenter. Deb is happiest when she is working with vibrant and motivated young students.

Math Specialist, SAT/ACT ★
Don received his B.A. in Communications from the University of Massachusetts, and his B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern in Boston. He comes to New England Tutors after a 35 year career as an engineer in the defense and aerospace industry. Don taught many technical courses to young engineers during his career. His focus is math and science (Physics and Chemistry) with a special talent for SAT/ACT prep. As a New Hampshire resident, he enjoys skiing, kayaking, and hiking.

Katherine received her BS in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Belmont Abbey College, North Carolina. She has done business/statistics work at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and has worked with students for the past 2 years as Dean of students at Northeast Catholic College. Katherine is a specialist in Algebra 1, 2, 3, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Geometry, and Physics.
Michele received her B.A. in American History from the University of Maine. She went onto receive her M.A. in Museum Studies at George Washington University. She has published 5 books and numerous articles in prominent magazines. Michele has been teaching and tutoring since 1999 at both the college and High School levels. English, Writing, Language Arts, History and Social Studies are her passion. She enjoys her work one on one most with students of all abilities and levels of learning.

Sue received her B.A in Psychology from Clemson University with a minor in Business Administration. She went on to receive her M.Ed. with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. Sue has been tutoring, teaching and coaching students with special needs since 1985. Her passion is working in small groups or individually with specialized and customized instruction for each individual. She has worked with grades K-12 both with academic support and executive skills building.
David received his B.S. in Psychology with a minor in English from Springfield college. He went onto receive his M.Ed. in Education from the University of Phoenix. David has been a counselor and Wilderness Program Director, mental health care worker, and English and Humanities teacher for 16 years; recently teaching English at Bishop Brady High School. David holds his teaching licenses in both NH and MA and was nominated for NH Teacher of the Year 2017.
Tammy received her B.A. in Dance as well as Psychology from the University of New York, College at New Paltz, NY. She went on to receive her M.Ed. in School Administration and Supervision from the University of New Hampshire, Durham campus. Tammy has been tutoring and teaching since 1991 which has included positions of Special Education Para Professional, Special Education Case Manager and Academic Coordinator and Case Manager DD. She is well versed in the special education process and the demands of these unique students. She is a passionate educator and is invested in the positive outcomes of all her students.
Eunmi a native of South Korea, received her B.S. in English Language and Literature from Busan National University. She went on to receive her WorkReadyNH and National Career Readiness Certificates from Great Bay Community College. Eunmi has been teaching and tutoring English and Math since 2009 both in the US and abroad.
Katherine received her B.S. in Family Studies: Young Child Development from the University of New Hampshire, Durham campus. She went on to receive her M.Ed. from UNH, Manchester campus. Katherine has been teaching and tutoring since 2002 working with students in grades K-8. She has directed many enrichment programs including Lacrosse, scrapbooking, ultimate Frisbee, photography Legos and card making. She has been the UNH instructor for The Green Thumb Program and a summer school instructor for Hudson Schools special education programs.
Stephen received his B.A. in Education from the University of Rhode Island. He started his career playing professional Baseball, then coaching college baseball. He has been teaching and tutoring in the Special Education world for over 25 years. Stephen specializes in Math (Algebra 1-Trigonometry), History and study skills. He is a passionate and committed educator to all those students who learn best on their own terms.
Martha received her B.A. in Education from Universidad ad Femenina del Sagrado Corazon in Lima, Peru. She is currently finishing her master’s work through the University of Alabama. She has been teaching and tutoring Spanish since 1992 and in the US since 2002. She currently teaches Spanish and AP Spanish grades 9-12 at a private academy. Martha has a unique energy for teaching her native language and has found success with all levels and styles of learners.
Erin received her B.S. in Recreation Management and Policy: Therapeutic Recreation from the University of New Hampshire. She has spent the past 20 years working with youth struggling in a traditional classroom. Many with AD/HD or social/emotional challenges. She has facilitated Outward Bound and Project Adventure programs, has been the Academic Discovery Course Director for SOAR, substitute taught, and managed a Hostel. As an ADD’er herself, she is intimately bound to the unique challenges of teens and their executive deficiencies. She approaches her teaching with compassion, interaction and boundless experience.
Elliot received his B.S. in Physics with a concentration in Astronomy and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Alabama. Elliot received CLRA designation as a Certified Academic Tutor at UAH. He has been tutoring since 2015. With New England Tutors, Elliot specializes in all math through Calculus 3 and Physics. Elliot will be pursuing his graduate degree in Physics and Astronomy in the Fall of 2019.
Sarah received a B.A. with Honors in English from William Smith College. Sarah worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer and literacy tutor and then went on to work as an English, math, and Orton-Gillingham-trained reading teacher. Sarah coordinated middle and high school academic support programs, at Thayer Academy Middle School and Berwick Academy (South Berwick, ME) where she served as Middle and Upper School Academic Support Coordinator for six years. In both roles, Sarah was a learning specialist to many students, a resource for countless parents, and worked regularly with faculty to differentiate instruction, intervention and assessment. She was trained by Dr. Marguerite Genest in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and accesses the SEL competencies regularly in her teaching. Sarah was also trained as an executive skills coach by Dr. Peg Dawson.
Abbey M. received her BS in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a minor in Psychology. Abbey has worked with student grades K-11 both in academic tutoring as well as through her Soccer coaching. Abbey began as a pre-med student, so her love and knowledge of science is high. For New England Tutors, Abbey specializes in math and science K-12.
Laura received her BA in Mass Communications and English with a Public Relations minor from the University of Maine, Orono. She went on to earn her M.Ed. from the University of Maine, Orono then completed her Alt 4 certification for Special Education (K-8). She holds her NH teaching Certificate for English 5-12 and General Special Education K-12. She has been tutoring and teaching since 2005. Her positions most recently have been Special Services at Winnacunnet High School, Extended Schoolyear Associate for North Hampton Schools and Special Education Teacher at Epping High School. She has training in both Wilson Reading and Read 180 and has had beginning training of OG.

Beth studied abroad at the National University of Ireland for English and Irish cultural studies. She received her B.S. in International Business with a minor in Collegiate Seminar/English from Saint Mary’s College of California then went on to get her M.S. in Teaching English from the University of New Hampshire. She has taught English, Science and Math at the Middle School level and College Prep and Honors English at the High School level for over 10 years.
She holds her teaching license in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and resides over the border in Berwick, ME. She specializes in college essay writing as well as ACT and SAT prep.
Kathy (KC) C
English & Writing ★
Kathy (known as KC) has a B.A.. in English from Barnard College in NYC, NY, and went on to receive her M.B.A. in Marketing from the School of Business at Columbia University. In her previous life, she could be found on Madison Avenue as a copywriter and freelance financial/marketing/speechwriter. Her specialty is College Prep English and Writing. KC can be found helping the non-profit organization 68 Hours of Hunger.
Reading Specialist, Special Education
Margaret received her BS in Nursing from the University of Vermont. She went on to receive her teacher certifications in K-8 general education, 6-8 math, and Reading Specialist designation. She is Orton-Gillingham certified as well as having 7 years experience with Wilson reading. Margaret has extensive experience and additional professional development to work with students who live with AD/HD and executive function deficiencies. Margaret recently received her certification for Executive Skills Coach through our signature training program in collaboration with Peg Dawson.
K-8 Math, Special Education
James received his B.S. in Mathematics Education Middle School 5-8 from Plymouth State University. He has been teaching and tutoring since 2013 and is currently a title 1 math tutor for grades 6-8 in the Pelham School District. He has coached boys basketball and girls and boys soccer as well as run several after-school programs. James is an avid snowboarder and skateboarder.
K-12 Literacy and Reading Specialist
Barbee received her BA in English Education from the University of New Hampshire. She is currently completing her M.Ed. at UNH as well. She has been teaching and tutoring English K-12, Special Education, Adult Education and ESL for 17 years. Although Reading and Writing is her specialty, Bee has taught all general subjects K-12.
Roman received his B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He went onto receive his M.S. in Statistics from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Roman has been teaching and tutoring since 2010 grades 8-college. He has been tutoring SAT prep since 2013. Roman currently works for an educational company creating formulas and math problems for tests but his love is working one on one with his students. His specialty with New England Tutors is High School math and SAT/ACT prep.
Christian received his B.A. in Mathematics/ Statistics from The University of Vermont-Burlington. He went on to receive his Alt 4 Mathematics certification to teach at the high school level. Christian had a non-traditional path to teaching. Starting out as an entrepreneur seeing a need and Co-founding The Alternative Roadmap (an independent tutoring program enhancing the classroom experience). He has been tutoring and teaching since 2015 and currently teaches high school math at a public high school in Maine.
Kurt received his B.A. in Music Education from SUNY, College at Fredonia. He went on to receive his B.S. in MIS from New Hampshire college. He then went on to receive his M.Ed. with a mathematics concentration from Rivier College. Kurt has spent over 30 years in the education world primarily working with grades 6-12 math, students with disabilities. He additionally has experience with SAT/ACT prep, GED, HiSET, ASVAB test prep.
Sean received his B.A. in Political Science from Middlebury College and then went on to receive his M.A. in Political Science from Boston College. He finished with his Ph.D. in Politics at the University of Dallas. Sean has been teaching and tutoring since 2013 starting at the college level and then currently at the high school level. Sean has extensive experience tutoring to SAT/ACT, LSAT, SSAT, GRE TOEFL, 3 languages (Italian, Latin, French), all levels of LA, composition, history, economics, and math through Geometry. Sean most enjoys working one on one with students to bring out their best.
Mary received her B.S. in Special Education from Kent State University. She has completed graduate work at both Ohio State and UNH. She has been a teacher and tutor in the Seacoast area for over 30 years working primarily with students’ grades K-8. She is experienced with Wilson Reading, SPIRE, Woodcock Reading Mastery, Key Math and Dibles. Mary is a passionate educator who loves her one on one work most.
Lily received her BA in Environmental Studies with a minor in Astronomy from Connecticut College. She has been a tutor and mentor for youth and young adults for over 5 years. Her background includes Crew Leader for F.R.E.S.H (farm community project for youth), Program Leader for AmeriCorps-New Orleans, Program Coordinator and teacher for Lawrence Boys and Girls Club. Lily also heads up our homework club at the Austin17 House. She is a passionate tutor who loves to connect students to experiential learning pathways. For NET she specializes in all levels of math and science.
Jennifer D. received her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from New England College. She went onto receive her M.Ed. in Special Education (K-12) with a Specific Learning Disability certification from Franklin Peirce University. Jennifer has been teaching and tutoring since 2012 working with a diverse group of students and their needs and abilities. For NET, Jennifer specializes in 2-8 grades. Jennifer is a passionate educator who enjoys one to one relationship where she feels she can make the biggest difference in her students’ lives.
Mark L. received his B.S. Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of New Hampshire. He went on to complete his M.Ed. in Secondary Education at UNH. Mark has been teaching and tutoring since 2000. He spent a year in Seoul, South Korea teaching English. Mark is also an avid hockey player and has coached hockey ad Lacrosse since 2000 as well. For NET Mark specializes in math through Pre- Calculus and all levels of Science.
Sandra M. received her B.S. in Recreation from Montclair State University. She went on to receive her M.Ed. in Special Education from Salem State College. She has additional certifications in Behavioral Interventions in Autism from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and Reading Specialist from Granite State College. She is Orton-Gillingham Certified. Sandy has been teaching and tutoring in the Nashua, Milton, Barnstead and Kingston school districts for the past 10 years. Sandra has been a reading/writing specialist with NET since 2015.
Justin Y. received his A.S. in Accounting from Hesser University, B.A. in Philosophy from the University of New Hampshire and then his M.Ed. from Southern New Hampshire University. Justin has been teaching, tutoring and coaching students of all abilities since 2014. His passion for working with the underserved has led him to work as relief staff for the Dover Children Home. Justin specializes in grades 5-12 math and English/LA.
