October 16 PSAT test date. Most schools will offer this during the school day/week.

November

Begin studying for the Spring SAT.

Stay on top of your course work and give it your best on tests and quizzes.  This year is a big year for your grades to count. 

December

Talk to your guidance counselor about AP and Honors level course work.

January

Register for either the SAT or ACT.  

February 

Begin researching and developing a list of colleges you are interested in.  

If interested in Nursing, you may have to register to take the TEAS exam www.atitesting.com  

If interested in Architecture, Art, Dance, Theatre or music, start to compile your portfolio.

March

March 14 SAT test date

Start making your college visits over spring break.

April

April 4 ACT test date

Plan your summer to make the most of it with a great job, work experience, college visits or take a college course.

May

May 2 SAT Test date and Subject tests

May 11-18 AP Exams

Meet with two teachers to formally request letters of recommendation.

June

Start writing topic ideas down for your college essays

June 6 SAT test date and Subject tests

July – August
